Lodge Enamel Cast Iron Cookware is hand-cast from molten iron in individual sand molds. The raw iron piece is hand prepared before several layers of enamel are applied and baked in very high temperature ovens. As a result of the traditional hand casting and finishing process, you may notice small irregularities which will not affect the quality and cooking performance.
• The enamel surface eliminates the need to season cast iron. • The cast iron vessel has superior heat distribution and retention. • Lodge Enamel Cast iron Cookware can be used on all cook tops and in the oven. • When using on glass or ceramic cook tops always lift the cookware to move. • Select low to medium heat when cooking on stovetop and never heat an empty pan. • In the oven, keep the oven temperature below 475 degrees F for best performance. • Use for any cooking technique, as well as to marinate, refrigerate and freeze. • Use wooden or silicon utensils. Metal tools can scratch the enamel surface. • Use a cloth or oven mitt to move pan from stovetop or oven. • The enamel finish is hard, but can chip if banged or dropped.
